Then onto the Southern California Specialty in Long Beach, CA where he received Best in Sweeps! He actually made the cut in Group which surprised everyone. He continued to show once a month and finally got his first point in Vallejo. Next it was on to the big show, Montgomery! We planned and planned for this 4 days of showing. We had to fly to Pennsylvania and he flew like a champ (of course we heard some barking from the belly of the plane and we all who knew that was!). The first day, he took his class under the well-known, Peter Green. He continued to show the remainder of the weekend and just showed like a champ taking first or second in his class. What else could we expect from an unknown, Dog, unknown Handler and unknown Breeder, but we made sure everyone knew who Pele and Hat Trick was by the end of the weekend. We came on and Pele took his first Major at DelValle. Currently, he has 8 points towards his major.

RoXXi Championship

CH Blackheath's FoXXi RoXXi started her show career at the San Mateo Dog Show in January 2008. We groomed and showed her ourselves for 6 months. RoXXi then took a short break before going off to a professional handler who finished her championship requirements.

Roxxi's First Major

RoXXi received her first major win in Palm Springs, CA on January 3, 2009.

Roxxi's Second Major

RoXXi received her second major win two weeks later in Ventura, CA on January 17, 2009.

RoXXi's Best of Breed

RoXXi received a Best of Breed in Paso Robles, CA in November 2008.

RoXXi's Best of Winners

RoXXi received a Best of Winners in the Gold Country show in August 2008.

As a breeder of Airedale Terriers:

We shall follow California Airedale Terrier Club, Inc. objectives as stated in article 1 section 1 of the Club Constitution and Bylaws which states that we are to:

a) Encourage and promote the quality breeding of purebred Airedale Terriers and to do all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection.

b) Urge members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed as approved by the American kennel Club, as the only standard by which Airedale Terriers shall be judged.

c) Do all in its power to protect and advance the interests of the breed by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at dog shows and obedience trials and to act as a support group for all Airedale Terrier owners.

d) Conduct sanctioned and member specialty shows under the rules of the AKC

In Addition I Shall Endeavor to:

1) Do my best to maintain high standards in the care of my dogs and to produce sound, good-tempered dogs that will be typical of their breed throughout their lives.

2) Never donate, sell to commercial wholesalers or retailers, nor sell litter lots nor allow any dog I have bred or caused to be bred to be placed at auction, raffle, chance or placed by any means other than direct sale to the person or family who intends to keep the dog for their own for the life of the dog.

3) Supply each purchaser with the following: registration record, three generation pedigree, health record, diet and care information and to help the owner for the life of the dog in every reasonable way.

4) Take a dog back if the owner of any dog of my breeding is unable or unwilling to care for the dog at any point in his lifetime.

It has been a pleasure getting to know both Nancy and Marguerite as we went through the "adoption" process for our Casey. They truly care about the breed, have a genuine concern for their dogs and puppies and are very particular who they sell their puppies to. I'm looking forward to a long friendship with them both. Our Casey is just the best . . . she is so smart, learns very quickly and has the best temperment. I recently started private training sessions with a professional handler who told me that "Casey may be your once in a lifetime dog!" She is adorable, we love her so and can't imagine our family without her.

Our main focus in breeding is for temperament. It does not matter if your puppy is in the show ring or hanging out on the couch temperament is something that can make your relationship with your dog or break it. Maintaining the AKC Airedale Terrier breed standard is what we strive for. Our puppies are whelped and raised in our home. By doing this the puppies are exposed to everyday noises and events. Our puppies know what the sound and look of a vacuum cleaner is. We introduce them to stairs, car rides, being held, the feeling of hot and cold, loud noises such as banging a pot, door bells, music is played in the house at all times, having their nails cut, and walking on a leash. We also have a very friendly and tolerant Yorkshire Terrier that runs the house, the puppies are introduced to him early on. This allows us to give the puppies socialization with a small dog while they are still young. Socialization during the early stages of a puppies life is key. All of our puppies have been introduced to children, adults of all ages, other well tempered Airedales and our Yorkshire Terrier. While the puppies are in our home we try to make sure they experience as much as possible.
